(Dedicated to Proxy, for being the first to point out we need image posting help.)
Image Hosting
The problem with sharing images via the forums is that you have to upload them to the internet first. Our message board doesn’t offer that service, so all of us will have to look elsewhere.
Wombat suggested www.photobucket.com. It’s a free service and pretty easy to use. Sign up was a little weird for me. If you get to the point that they ask for your Social Security Number… just close the browser and they’ll send you your activation code and account info anyway. When Wombat signed up he wasn’t asked for his SS#, so we’re not quite sure what’s going on there. Anyway, that was just a warning.
You can’t share your images if you don’t upload the image to some place on the internet, at Photobuket.com or other.
Photobucket.com is handy to use for your image hosting, especially if you’re planning on using it mainly to post images in the forums. After you upload a file to your account in Photobucket.com, copy the code from the 3rd line under the image, and you can simply cut & paste that line into your posts to share the image, like a screen shot, with the rest of us.
Code example:
Avatar
Avatar images are only a little bit different. You still have to have the image uploaded to some place on the internet. Go to “Profile” in the KKE forums menu bar. (Which I hate because it’s so tiny and hard to notice. Didn’t even know it was there for the first week or two! Lol >^^<)
Next, click on “Modify Profile”. In the space labeled “Avatar URL:” type in –just- the URL of the image you want as your Avatar. Don’t include any tags like the “” ones.
Here’s an example using one of the Avatars Wombat is sharing: i31.photobucket.com/albums/c360/solsirt/ninja.gif
When you’re done typing in the URL, just click “Modify Profile” at the bottom of the page. The web site should save the changes, and your new Avatar should display with your posts.
If any of you need more help with posting images, please please please message me! I’ll be more than happy to answer questions and help get Photobuckt.com going for you, etc. >^^<
Plus, any questions I get will help me revise this guide to help others later. ^^b
